Somewhere to keep the stories you reread.

Laiza is an ebook and fanfiction reader for Android. Bring your own EPUBs, or paste a link to a work and it arrives with its tags intact. Everything you read, highlight and note stays on your phone.

There is no account to make, nothing to subscribe to, and no part of it that needs a connection.

Books arrive however you have them

Pick an EPUB from your phone and Laiza keeps its own copy, so moving or deleting the original later never breaks the book. Paste a work's address and it downloads with its title, author, word count, chapters and fandom tags already filled in. Or share a link straight from your browser — it waits in Discover rather than downloading unasked.

It reads the way you set it

Page by page or one continuous scroll. Font, size, spacing, margins and page colours, set once for everything or overridden for a single book. It reopens exactly where you stopped, and once it has watched you read for a while it starts telling you how long is left in the chapter.

There is a reading-aloud mode that keeps going with the screen off.

Highlights that survive a rewrite

Highlight in as many colours as you like, and name them for what they mean to you — a favourite line, a ship moment, something you think is foreshadowing.

When an author edits an earlier chapter of a work in progress, the text you marked shifts. Laiza remembers the words around each highlight, not just where it sat, and finds it again in the new version. If a passage is rewritten past recognition the highlight is kept and flagged, never quietly dropped.

Shelves you can close

Any shelf can be marked hidden. Its books then leave the library, the search results, the continue-reading row and your highlights until you unlock them with a fingerprint or a PIN. The app itself still opens without a lock — only the shelf is private.

Yours to take with you

One backup file holds every book, cover, highlight, note, bookmark, review, shelf and reading position. You choose where it goes, and it is never uploaded anywhere. That file is how a library moves to a new phone.

Nothing to sign up for

Laiza is free to use. There is no account, no sync and no subscription — not as a promise, but because there is no server for one to run on. Your library is a folder on your phone and a backup is a file you keep.
